The World Bank Legal Vice Presidency (LEG) is co-sponsoring a book launch taking place next Thursday, May 5, in the InfoShop auditorium (J 1-050). Susan Rose-Ackerman of Yale University, one of the foremost experts on the economic and jurisprudential aspects of corruption, along with her co-author Bonnie Palifka of ITESM at Monterrey, Mexico, will be presenting the second edition of Corruption and Government. Since it original publication in 1999, this book has become an indispensable reference in its field for students, scholars and practitioners alike, translated into 17 languages and taught in universities all over the world.
Senior Vice President and Bank Group General Counsel, Anne-Marie Leroy, will be delivering the opening remarks. The Bank’s Chief Economist, Kaushik Basu, and the new Senior Director of the Bank’s Governance Global Practice, Debbie Wetzel, will be discussants. The event will be moderated by Frank Fariello, a Lead Counsel in the Legal Vice Presidency’s Operations Policy practice group.
