Nationally Determined Contributions – Case Studies from Brazil and Mexico

Event Date:
Tuesday, November 1, 2016

Although the Paris Agreement and Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) submissions are significant milestones, the challenge going forward will be turning the plans and goals set in NDCs into concrete actions. Countries are at different stages of planning for NDCs implementation and coherence with the domestic legal and policy frameworks will be critical to success or failure. This workshop aims to explore the legal aspects of NDCs, the challenges of their implementation and to present the case studies of the Brazilian and Mexican NDCs versus the policy and legal framework in their energy sectors.
