Rollout and Implementation of the World Bank's Personal Data Privacy Framework

Tami Doklen is the World Bank Chief Data Privacy Officer. She is a highly experienced privacy professional with an extensive background in privacy compliance matters. She previously served as Head of Global Data Privacy and Protection, and Associate General Counsel, at MoneyGram International, a financial services company with 350,000 agent locations in 200 countries. Before joining MoneyGram, Ms. Dokken was in-house legal counsel at a multinational hospitality company and in private practice at a US-based law firm. During her tenure at MoneyGram, Ms. Dokken led the global data privacy and data protection program. She developed and implemented a long-term, risk-based strategic vision for data privacy and data protection and set broad cross-functional objectives to meet that vision. She instituted internal process changes and public-facing changes to meet the requirements of international laws, including the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). In addition, Ms. Dokken was the Global Data Protection Officer and the primary point of contact with data privacy regulators worldwide. Ms. Dokken is a licensed attorney and a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) in US and EU privacy laws. Ms. Dokken is the first Chief Data Privacy Officer and Head of the Data Privacy Office of the World Bank.

Dr. Alberto Garcia
UNESCO Chair in Bioethics and Human Rights

 Prof. Alberto García is Doctor in Law from Complutense University in Madrid. Presently, he is a Professor of Philosophy of Law and International Law at the School of Bioethics of Athenaeum Pontificium Regina Apostolorum in Rome. Furthermore, he is a researcher of the Human Rights Institute at Complutense University. For five years he has been a member of the Steering Committee of Bioethics in the Council of Europe and in 2005 he was honored with the National Prize of the Spanish Royal Academy of Doctors in the field of Legal and Social Sciences.
