Kanravee Kittayarak (Amp) is an Innovation Exploration Lead of the Justice Innovation Unit at Thailand Institute of Justice (TIJ). Joined since 2018, Amp played an important role in setting up the Innovation Unit, introducing the human-centered approach (design thinking) and strategic foresight (future thinking) into the Thai justice sector. As the Innovation Exploration Lead, her role is to search for and prototype the application of interdisciplinary and innovative frameworks and concepts that have the potential to transform the Thai justice system (particularly criminal) to be more people-centered at the functional, mental and cultural level. Her work includes lecturing and hosting workshops on justice innovation for universities and various justice institutions, supervising and managing various justice tech solution projects, fostering collaborations between justice and other sectors, connecting international knowledge around justice innovation to local stakeholders and empowering youth in the justice transformation process. The current exploration focuses on the future of justice in the digitized world. Amp has been trained as a lawyer, with a bachelor degree in law from Chulalongkorn University (Thailand) and master degrees from the Faculty of Law, Cambridge University (UK) and Stanford Law School (US). Her interests lay at the intersection of justice, human-centered design, and collective impact approach. In her freetime, she is a conservational scuba-diving enthusiast and a regular go-er of jazz swing-dance clubs in Bangkok.
